- Version 1.10.300
- Requires Android 7.1

Some matches are quick and sharp.
Others unfold slowly, move by move, into something much deeper. That's the thing about Step Field - it's still the checkers you know, but you can actually customize it however you want.
Step Field
Okay, so it's basically checkers, right? But I swear every move feels like it actually matters now.
We basically looked at regular checkers and were like, 'This could be way cooler.' - better graphics, you can change the rules, lots of different ways to play around with it. You can play against a friend, battle some pretty smart AI, or mess around with the board however you want.
About the Game
Classic strategy, redesigned for modern play
Look, it's still checkers at heart, but somehow every move just hits different, you know? But around that classic core, the game adds freedom.
You are not locked into one board, one rhythm, or one style.
You can play traditional matches, experiment with custom
settings, sharpen your tactics against AI, and explore how the game changes when the size of the field changes with it.
It feels familiar from the first move.
It feels fresh by the fifth.
Two Ways to Play
Choose your way to play
One's all about beating your friend. The other's about getting better at the game.
-
Versus Mode
Play locally with a friend on the same device and enjoy direct head-to-head matches. Perfect for quick rematches, tactical experiments, and classic competitive play.
-
Campaign Mode
There are 30 levels and honestly? Level 20 had me stressed out. Each stage asks for better positioning, sharper planning, and stronger control of the board.
Board Customization
Change the board. Change the game.
One of Step Field’s defining features is board size customization. You can go from 6×6 all the way up to 12×12, and trust me, they feel like totally different games.
-
6×6
boards create faster, tighter battles
-
8×8
boards preserve the classic rhythm
-
10×10 and 12×12
boards open space for longer strategies and more layered movement
Flexible Rules
Traditional or custom — your rules, your style
Step Field lets you decide whether forced captures should be required.
In classic checkers, if a capture is possible, you must take it. Here, you can keep that traditional rule or turn it off for a more open strategic experience.
Just that one setting completely changes how the game feels:
- one focused on discipline and classic structure
- one focused on freedom, traps, and new tactical ideas
Campaign Journey
30 campaign levels that grow with you
The campaign really does get harder as you go - we didn't just make the AI cheat or anything cheap like that.
Early levels help you settle into the game’s pace.
Later levels begin to punish careless moves, reward
patience, and
force you to think several turns ahead.
The AI gets tougher as you go, and honestly, each level starts feeling like its own little chess match.
- 30 AI levels
- Smart opponents
- New setups
Stats and Achievements
See your progress,
not
just your victories
It doesn't just count your wins and losses - it's watching how you actually play the game. You can see how you're getting better over time, plus there are achievements for hitting those little milestones — completing levels, building streaks, and mastering different board sizes.

Design and Feel
Everything just works the way you'd expect it to
